biohack

Instead of a Public Service Announcement (PSA), I have a Personal Service Announcement.

In my January 29, 2021 post EXTEND, I talk about how I have been biohacking since 2018. And I live a life steeped in community service, beginning as a Brownie in the Girl Scouts, 40 years ago. Since I celebrate my 50th rotation around the sun today, I cannot think of a better idea to commemorate my Half Century mark than integrating education, community service, and science into my future plans.

Moving forward, I think about my purpose and ambitions: how I can continue contributing to the academic, well-being, and personal growth of children; how I can continue supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – particularly SDG4; and how I can continue serving my community, my country, and the world as a learner and a mentor. In this spirit, I have launched a goal for my next Century. Yes, not an additional 50 years, rather an additional 100 years. My intention is to live until I am 150-years old!!

Aside from an unfortunate event or a natural disaster, extending my lifespan is absolutely attainable with today’s medical treatments and therapies and cutting-edge science. There are multiple variables in my favor:

The good news is that my chronological age and inner age are the same. The even better news is that since I am on a precipice of worst and best case scenarios, I choose the best case of reversing my inner age to 40. Now that I have a baseline of my 43 biomarkers (12 to improve/31 optimal), I am in a unique position to make personalized modifications that will enhance the quality of my health and reduce the acceleration of aging. Hopefully, my informed choices will keep me in great shape until I can benefit from longevity escape velocity in 10 – 15 years (where science can extend your life for more than a year for every year you are alive).

Although my intentions for action within education and community service are percolating, I have made a birthday request for my loved ones: to grant me my wish and contribute to my 2071 Time Capsule. When I celebrate my 100th birthday, I will have keepsakes from them to open. Additionally, I will take advantage of that moment to reflect upon 90 years of community service.

If I am fortunate to be consciously aware that I am terminally dying before becoming a Centenarian, I will feel incredibly grateful to open the capsule in advance. However, I am confident that I will be a Supercentenarian, so I will create a new time capsule for 2121 on my 100th birthday. Happy Birthday to Me!
