When I was a young girl, I loved that there was a Disney movie and character who shared my first name – Alison. ‘Alison Wonderland’ was incredibly special to me. I enjoyed her sense of adventure toward every place she visited, every opportunity she experienced, and every character she befriended. Once when I asked my mom how she would define my qualities as a child, she easily described me as happy, inquisitive, loving, calm, stubborn, thoughtful, and shy (although with a disclaimer that I did like people, actually). I often saw myself in ‘Alison’, primarily her wonder and curiosity. I still do. It was years later, though, that I realized ‘Alison’s name is Alice…who is in Wonderland!

However, Alison is a derivative of Alice. And the traits of curiosity and the actions of wonder remain the same between me and Alice circa Oxford 1865. I wonder what my future holds as I commence 2021. Alison in Wonderland will be a platform to share wonder, awe, and discovery!
